Tardini was founded by Luigi Tardini in 1958, originally producing belts and subsequently expanding to the production of bags and small Leather articles. In 1984, the business was passed to Luigi’s sons who transferred the company, expanding and changing it to the brand name of DeVecchi, in tribute to their mother Lidia Vecchi. Later on, Giuseppe Tardini decided to return to the original family business and name. Tardini now specialises in American Alligator Leather and has become one of the few brands to import Alligator and Caiman skins directly from the United States and South America. Expert tanners of Tardini work the skins, often carrying out the unique finishing processes by hand.

Tardini continues to employ many experienced craftsmen, some of whom have worked for the company for thirty years and whose children have also joined the company to continue the tradition and history of the Italian art of luxury Leather goods.
